Shooting Incident

AURORA, Zamboanga del Sur - Shooting incident transpired at Barangay Bayabas, Aurora, Zamboanga del Sur at about 12:40 AM of May 13, 2019.

Police Brigadier Gen. Emmanuel Luis D Licup, PRO9 Director identified the victim as Marcelo Amaro y Flores, 61 years old, male, farmer and a resident of Purok Rubia, Brgy. Bayabas, Aurora, Zamboanga del Sur.

He was shot by his neighbor identified as Julibe Ruiles y Quiño, legal age. The victim sustained gunshot wound on his feet and was brought to Aurora Community Emergency hospital located at Brgy, Cabilinan, Aurora, Zamboanga del Sur for medication.

PNP personnel of Aurora Municipal Police Station are now conducting follow up investigation on the incident.

Alleged Ambushed Incident

DINAS, Zamboanga cdel Sur - An alleged ambushed transpired at Purok Tula Tula, Barangay Tarakan, Dinas, Zamboanga del Sur at about 6:30 PM of May 12, 2019.

Police Brigadier Gen. Emmanuel Luis D Licup, PRO9 Director identified the victims as Totoy Pendaton Marcaban,37 years old, married a Sanguniang Bayan Candidate of Dinas, Zamboanga del Sur, Barangay Councilor Abdulgani Paragunan Esmael, 54 years old, married and Hassim Dilagan Esmael, 54 years old, also married all resident of Purok Esmael, Barangay Tarakan, Dinas, Zamboanga del Sur.

The victims allegedly ambushed by unidentified armed men at Purok Tula tula, Barangay Tarakan, Dinas, Zamboanga del Sur while they were travelling along the Barangay road heading towards Barangay Taraka, Dinas.

Investigation disclosed that the driver identified as Totoy Pendaton Marcaban before the incident he saw a male personality tailed them at the road but when he was hit by the flash of the light he suddenly jumps into the grassy area of said place, there and then a burst of gunfire followed hitting into the different part of the Car and subsequently after the incident suspects fled away to Sitio Baka, Dinas, Zamboanga del Sur.

Meanwhile, Joint of PNP personnel of Dinas Municipal Police Station and 53rd Infantry Battalion of Philippine Army conducted hot pursuit operation for the possibly arrest of the suspects but yielded negative result. Motive of the incident was still to be determined.

1 person killed in Shooting Incident

AURORA, Zamboanga del Sur – One person was killed in Shooting incident transpired at Purok 3, Barangay San Juan, Aurora, Zamboanga del Sur at about 6:40 AM of May 10, 2019.   

Police Brigadier Gen. Emmanuel Luis D Licup, PRO9 Director identified the victim as Jomar Sarmiento y Romulo, 32 years old, married, carpenter resident of Purok 3, Barangay San Juan Aurora. Accordingly, the victim was pasturing his cow at the river bank of aforesaid place when several gun fires coming from the elevated portion of the riverside.

The victim was hit at the different parts of the body that causes his instantaneous death.

Recovered from the crime scene nine (9) empty shells of M16 rifle; four (4) empty shells of 9 MM caliber pistol, and one (1) broken slug and will be turned-over to Zamboanga del Sur Provincial Laboratory for Ballistic Examination. Motive of the incident is still to be determined.

2 persons victim in Shooting Incident

AURORA, Zamboanga del Sur (April 26, 2019) – Two persons were victim in Shooting incident occurred at Brgy. Campo 1, Aurora, Zamboanga del Sur. 

Initial investigation conducted disclosed that at about 12:10 in the morning of April 26, 2019, two (2) male persons were found bloody lying beside of their single motorcycles along the old National Highway at Purok Sta Maria, Brgy. Campo 1 Aurora, Zamboanga del Sur.

The male person lay beside the single motorcycle skygo, color red, without plate number was identified as Castor Cabusas y Branzuela, 38 years old, married and a resident Purok Lajoma, Brgy. San Jose, Aurora, Zamboanga del Sur was immediately transported by the ambulance of the Aurora Rural Health Unit going to Mharsgen Hospital, Ozamis City for medication while the other male person laid beside the single motorcycle XRM, color blue, with plate number JP 9099 was identified as Ranulfo Rato y Cabusas sustained gunshot wound on his armpit, face and head that resulted to his untimely death.

During the processing of the crime scene the team able recovered three (3) empty shells of caliber 45 and to be turned-over to Zamboanga del Sur Provincial Laboratory for Ballistic Examination.

Aurora Municipal Police Station is still conducting thorough investigation for possible identification of the suspect and to determine the motive of the incident.

Rape Suspect Arrested

AURORA, Zamboanga del Sur (April 23, 2019) - Joint PNP Personnel of Aurora Municipal Police Station and Buldon Municipal Police Station (Maguindanao) conducted police operation on wanted person at Purok Sta. Cruz, Barangay Libertad, Aurora, Zamboanga del Sur at about 12:05 PM of April 22, 2019. 

Police Brigadier General Emmanuel Luis D Licup, PRO9 Director said the operation was resulted in the arrest of James Ryan Borbon y Calleno, 23 years old, male, carpenter, a resident of Purok Calubi, Barangay Poblacion, Aurora, Zamboanga del Sur.

The accused was arrested by virtue of Warrant of Arrest for the crime of Rape docketed under Criminal Case no. 2018-9812 issued by Presiding judge, RTC 12, Judicial Region Branch 27, Cotabato City dated March 4, 2019, with No bail recommended.  

The arrested person was brought to Aurora Municipal Police Station for record purposes and turned-over to personnel of Buldon MPS for proper disposition.

The Regional Director lauded the operating units for a job well done.

Motor Vehicular Traffic Accident

AURORA, Zamboanga del Sur March 30, 2019) - Motor vehicular traffic accident transpired at Purok San Vicente, Barangay Libertad, Aurora, Zamboanga del Sur. at about 10:00 AM of March 29, 2019.

 PNP team of Aurora MPS proceeded to the said place to conduct ocular investigation.

Initial investigation conducted disclosed that on or about 10:00 o’clock in the morning of March 29, 2019, one vehicle Honda Fit Hatchback, color red, bearing Plate No. MFR 472, driven by Police Corporal Yvonie Francis Abao y Taranza, 28 years old, single, PNP member and presently assigned at Midsalip Municipal Police Station, and a resident of Purok San Vicente, Barangay Libertad, Aurora, Zamboanga del Sur travelling from Pagadian City going to her residence.

However, upon reaching at Purok San Vicente, Brgy Libertad, Aurora, particularly in front of her house she maneuvered to the left to enter the driveway and suddenly the tailing one Single MC Suzuki Raider 150, bearing temporary Plate No. 0901-02, driven by one Nidevah Gesulga y Malazarte, 29 years old, with live-in partner, Globe Telecom agent/installer, accidentally bumped her (Yvonnie) driven vehicle and the driver of the single MC losses his control and thrown towards the road ditch.

As a result hereof the driver of Single MC Suzuki Raider 150 (Nidevah), sustained severe head injury, right leg broken and left knee bruises and immediately brought to Aurora Community Emergency (ACE) Hospital situated at Purok Badac, Barangay Cabilinan, Aurora, ZDS for medication but subsequently pronounced dead on arrival by the attending physician.

The left side of the front bumper of Honda Fit Hatchback was detached while Single MC Suzuki Raider 150, incurred damages to wit; cowling assembly, engine and right side cover were broken; shift gear, brake pad, telescopic assembly, handle bar, rear rim and muffler were deformed; and brake light was detached.

Both vehicles are now in custody of Aurora MPS including the driver of Honda Fit for proper disposition.

Rape Suspect Captured

AURORA, Zambonaga del Sur (Feb. 15, 2019) - On February 14, 2019 at about 3:50 PM, joint PNP personnel of Bukidnon PPO, Valencia City Police Station, Panaon MPS, and Aurora MPS, Zambonaga del Sur conducted police operation (Service of Arrest Warrant) at Purok 6, Bagontaas, Valencia City, Bukidnon.

The operation waqs resulted to the arrest of Ruperto Lowaton Y Aguerre, 76 years old, married, Radio Commando Radio Station, and resident of Purok 6, Barangay Bagontaas, Valencia, Bukidnon.

The accused was arrested by virtue of Warrant of Arrest for the Crime of Rape, docketed under Criminal Case number 07-10, 521, dated 20 February 2008 issued by Presiding Judge, Regional Trial Court, 9th Judicial Region, Branch 30, Aurora, Zamboanga del Sur with no bail bond recommended..

Subject person now temporarily detained at Valencia City Police Station Detention Cell and to be turn-over to PNP personnel of Aurora MPS for proper disposition.

Stabbing Incident

AURORA, Zamboanga Del Sur (Feb. 5, 2019) -  Stabbing incident transpired at Purok 1, Brgy. La Victoria, Aurora, Zamboanga Del Sur at about 1:30 PM of February 4, 2019.

Initial investigation conducted disclosed the victim identified as Vivian Tubio Y Tibor, 52 years old, female, housewife, married and a resident of Purok 1, Brgy. La Victoria Aurora, Zamboanga Del Sur had a conversation with her mother identified as Eleuteria Dioquino y Catane and her neighbor Gina Lozada at the waiting shed in front of her mother’s house, the suspect identified as Lucy Paciencia Y Tubio, 49 years old, female, housewife and also resident of the aforesaid place suddenly arrived and drew her small bolo wrapped with a jacket and attacked the victim but the victim able jumped out of the waiting shed.

However, the victim was trapped between the shed and the bamboo fence and she was stabbed by the suspect two (2) times hitting her stomach and buttocks. Luckily, the victim able to escape and entered the house of her mother;

Then after the incident, the suspect went to the National Highway and voluntarily surrendered to the Police Officers who happened to pass by the area to conduct mobile patrol and turned-over her small bolo used in the commission of the offense and the victim was brought to Aurora Community Emergency hospital located at Brgy. Cabilinan, Aurora, Zamboanga Del Sur.

Motive of the incident believed to be love triangle. Subsequently the suspect was brought to Aurora MPS for proper disposition.

Man Held in Aurora for Violation of R.A 10591 and Violation of Omnibus Election Code on COMELEC Gun Ban

AURORA, Zamboanga Del Sur (Feb. 4, 2019) - PNP team of Aurora MPS conducted mobile roving patrol at Purok Dongallo Barangay Kahayagan West, Aurora, Zamboanga Del Sur at about, 3:00 o’clock in the morning of February 3, 2019.

During the mobile patrol, One Rhea Sheen Arvelo y Baldicantos a resident of Purok Baldicantos, Barangay Kahayagan West, Aurora, Zamboanga del Sur personally informed the PNP team that there was a riot transpired at National Hi-way, Purok Dongallo, Barangay Kahayagan West, Aurora, Zamboanga del Sur.

Initial investigation conducted disclosed, that at about 2:55 AM of same date, the suspect identified as one Reyuel Vercede y Entero, 44 years old, single, farmer by occupation, a resident of Purok Dongallo, Barangay Kahayagan, Aurora, Zamboanga Del Sur, which under the influence of intoxicating liquor having an argument with the some bystander who attending the disco party in celebration of Araw ng Kahayagan 2019 of the said barangay.

That during confrontation, between the suspect and the responding police officer, the suspect eludes the arrest and run. PNP elements of Aurora MPS able to chased and arrested the suspect.

Confiscated from his possession and control fro the suspect one (1) pistol caliber 357, Smith and Wesson revolver without serial number, and loaded with six (6) rounds of live ammunition.

The arrested suspect is now under custody of Aurora MPS for proper disposition.

3 Arrested in Police Operation

AURORA, Zamboanga Del Sur (Feb. 1, 2019) – The Joint elements of 902nd MC, RMFB9, Regional Intelligence Division 9, Zamboanga  Del Sur Mobile Force Company, Zamboanga Del Sur PPO-Intel Branch and PDEA in coordination with Aurora MPS conducted an anti-illegal drugs operation at Sitio San Miguel, Purok Mendez, Barangay Commonwealth, Aurora Municipality, Zamboanga Del Sur at about 4:45pm of January 31, 2019.

The successful operation was resulted to the arrest of three (3) suspects identified as:

Edwin Ballesir Sungcalang @ "Edwin" ex-detainee for firearms violation, 39 years old, married and resident of Purok San Miguel, Commonwealth, Aurora, Zambonga del Sur,  

Juan Sabandal Tampos @ "Juan" (ex-muntinlupa convict who is on probation) and

Gerard Marvin Romarate Beduya @ "Didit" ex-detainee for violation of 9262, 33 years old, married and resident of Brgy Libertad, Auora, Zamboanga del Sur.

Recovered from their possession and control were the following items:

Two (2) regular-sized heat-sealed sachets of shabu worth more or less Php3, 000.00,

One (1) .45 caliber pistol,

One (1) holster,

Four (4) .45 ammunitions,

Five (5) .38 ammunitions and

M-16 ammunitions and

Two (2) Php500.00 peso bills as marked money.

Arrested suspect is now detained under the temporary custody of PDEU lock-up cell undergoing interrogation and booking procedure.

1 person wouded in Hacking Incident

AURORA, Zamboanga Del Sur (Jan. 18, 2019) - One person was wounded in Hacking Incident transpired at Purok 3, Brgy Bag-ong, Mandaue, Aurora, Zamboanga Del Sur at about 9:30 PM of January 17, 2019.

PCSUPT Emmanuel Luis D Licup, PRO9 Regional Director identified the victim as Welmer Gomez y Mapula, male, 45 years old, labor by occupation and a resident of Purok 3, Brgy Bag-ong, Mandaue.

The suspect was identified as Bilmor Mangoyanon y Namocot, 41 years old, married, Brgy Kagawad of Brgy Bag-ong, Mandaue Aurora, Zamboanga Del Sur. 

Accordingly, victim (Welmer) and suspect (Bilmor) was under the influence of intoxicating liquor and argument ensued between them which the suspect get a scythe and hacked the victim.

As a result hereof victim (Welmer) sustained a hacked wound on his right shoulder and left middle finger and immediately brought to Aurora Community Emergency (ACE) Hospital, Brgy Cabilinan, Aurora, Zamboanga Del Sur for medication.

While suspect Bilmor Mangoyanon was successfully apprehended by the responding police officers at the above-mentioned place and was brought to Aurora MPS for proper case disposition.

1 person shot to death by 2 motorcycle suspects

AURORA, Zamboanga del Sur (Jan. 9, 2019) - Shooting incident transpired at Purok Santo Niño, Brgy Libertad, Aurora, Zamboanga Del Sur at about 6:10 PM of January 8, 2019.

Initial investigation conducted by Aurora MPS disclosed that about 6:10 in the evening of same date, victim identified as Jumary Mangubaty y Romarate, male, 36 years old, married, vendor and a resident of Purok Santo Niño, Brgy Libertad, Aurora was inside of his store when two (2) unidentified male person arrived and pretended to be a customer and without any provocation shot the victim (Jumary Mangubat) several times.

Right after the incident the suspects onboard a Single Motorcycle heading towards Brgy. Monte Alegre, Aurora, Zamboanga Del Sur.

The victim sustained four (4) gunshot wound on his chest, abdomen and right arm was immediately rushed to Aurora Community Emergency (ACE) Hospital, Brgy. Cabilinan, Aurora, Zamboanga Del Sur but was pronounced dead on arrival by the attending physician.

During the processing of the crime scene, the responding team was able to recover one (1) pcs 50 peso paper bill, seven (7) empty shells of caliber 45 pistol, four (4) slug of caliber 45 pistol.

The recovered item were turned-over to Zamboanga del Sur Provincial Crime Laboratory, Camp Abelon Pagadian City for Ballistic Examination; The motive of the incident is still to be determined.
