Victim survives in shooting incident

AURORA, Zamboanga del Sur (March 29, 2018) – The victim survived in a shooting incident transpired at Barangay Purok Lovers lane, Barangay San Jose in this municipality Wednesday at 6:25 pm.

Municipal Police Station Officer In-Charge Chief of Police Chief Insp. Edgar R Hinoctan identified the victim as Erlindo Bontuyan Mora aka Long-long, 30 years old, married, tricycle driver and a resident of Purok Acasia, Brgy Panaghiusa of this town.

Chief Insp. Hinoctan said that in the initial investigation conducted disclosed that the victim together with his live-in partner Renelyn Coronel arrived at the residence of Erenio Coronel father of his live-in partner at Brgy Purok Lovers lane, Brgy San Jose having a drinking session inside the house. Suddenly an unidentified suspect went near the window of their house and shot the victim Erlindo Mora hitting on his right arm.

The victim was rushed to Aurora Community Emergency (ACE) Hospital located at Brgy Cabilinan of this town for immediately medication but subsequently transferred to Zamboanga del Sur Medical Center to Dao, Pagadian City for further medication, Police investigation said. (By JONG CADION)

The suspect fled to unknown direction after the incident. Police operatives recovered at the crime scene one empty shell of caliber .45 pistols, Chief Insp. Hinoctan said.

Aurora MPS is still conducting thorough investigation for possible identification of the suspect and also to determine the motive of the incident. The assigned Investigator of the Case (IOC) is PO2 Sannie R Miñoza with contact number 09094182452.

Murder Suspect Surrendered in Aurora, Zamboanga del Sur

Aurora, Zamboanga del Sur (March 28, 2018) – One wanted person with standing warrant of arrest for the crime of Frustrated Murder docketed under criminal case no. 03-10, 359 issued by Hon. Loreto C Quinto, Presiding Judge, RTC, 9th Judicial Region, Branch 30 of this town voluntarily surrendered to Acting Police Chief of this town Tuesday 2:00 pm.

Aurora Municipal Police Station Officer In-Charge Chief of Police Chief Insp. Edgar R Hinoctan identified the suspect as Rosalito Cediño Ecot aka “Titi”, 36 years old, married, tricycle driver and a resident of Zone Imbaw, Barangay Calawisan, Lapu-Lapu, Cebu City.

Said accused has a bail bond of Two Hundred Thousand Pesos (P200, 000.00) for his temporary liberty and he is now temporary detained at Aurora MPS lock-up cell while waiting for final adjudication from the court, PCInspt. Hinoctan said. (By JONG D. CADION)

Old woman committed Suicide in Aurora, Zamboanga del Sur

Aurora, Zamboanga del Sur (March 28, 2018) – An 81 years old woman was found after hanging herself at the kitchen of their house yesterday March 27 at Purok Madanihon, Barangay Bemposa of this municipality.

Aurora Mun. Police Station Officer In-Charge Chief of police Chief Insp. Edgar R Hinoctan said that on or about 7:00 pm of Tuesday, Punong Barangay Guilermo Damandaman Domdom of Barangay Bemposa of this town personally came and reported to Aurora MPS that one of his constituents identified as Felisa Lagnas Cedeño, 81 years old, married, house wife committed suicide at her residence.

Acting on the said report, PNP elements of Aurora MPS immediately proceeded to the said place to verify the veracity of said report and to conduct investigation, PCInspt. Hinoctan said.

He added that in the initial investigation conducted disclosed the victim was found dead by her husband Senon Gormis Cedeño, 88, with Alzheimer’s disease at the kitchen of their house hung with a rope that was tied around her neck.

Further investigation revealed that, upon seeing his wife, he immediately shouted for help in vernacular “Tabang Mo Oy” and immediately their neighbors went to their house, helped him untie his wife, and placed her in the bedroom.
